Yarraman Festival
The Yarraman Festival is a small town celebration with a big heart! Local residents and visitors are invited to enjoy market stalls, food trucks, kids' activities, raffles, and more at Station Park (at the end of Millar Street, Yarraman) from 10:00am to 4:00pm today. There'll be handmade goods and local produce for sale, as well as sweet treats and sizzling street food. Wild Horse FM 99.7 will be broadcasting live from the festival grounds, adding plenty of atmosphere to the event. Entry is free! Potential stallholders are invited to register their interest online. As a bonus, riders taking part in the annual Brisbane Valley Rail Trail "Festival Of Cycling" will be arriving during the day!
Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
- Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 9:00am to 12:30pm, plus tea and scones will be available on the verandah for $10.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but they'll be operating in a COVID Safe way. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
- The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Richard Ogden Concert - Nanango
Sunshine Coast singer Richard Ogden will be bringing his funky urban-folk band back to Nanango for a this afternoon. Popular local musician Nathan Hartley will be the support act. The concert will kick off at 2:00pm tonight at the Nanango Theatre Company, on the corner of George and Elk streets. Doors open 30 minutes before. Tickets are just $20 and can be booked online or pay at the door (cash only).
Saturday Night Bingo - Kingaroy

Saturday Rugby League - Wondai
The Wolves will be holding their Ladies Day as well as a “Play In Purple” fundraiser for cancer at Wondai Sportsground today, with junior football games from Under 6s through to Under 12s played across seven fields from 9:00am. At 12:20pm, the Under 15/16 Development Cup South Burnett Eagles will play Oakey; at 1:15pm, there'll be a South Burnett Under 14s game between Kingaroy and minor premiers Nanango; and at 2:10pm, in an Under 15s Girls game, South Burnett Eagles will take on Oakey / Newtown. Two A Grade games will also be played: At 3:15pm, Cherbourg v Kingaroy; and at 4:40pm, Wondai v Murgon.
Taabinga State School Prep Open Day
- Taabinga State School, at 2 Rae Street, Kingaroy, is inviting anyone who has a child starting in Prep in 2026 to come along to their Open Day from 10:00am-11:00am today (sign-on 9.45am) in the school hall. Future 2026 preppies attending will receive a voucher to get a free TSS 2026 school hat, donated by Taabinga SS P&C. This is an opportunity to meet teachers and school staff while children can interact with activities and have a school tour.
Proston Khanacross
Proston Car Rally Club will be holding Day 1 of their weekend-long Proston Khanacross at their race track today (the club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston at 757 Proston-Boondooma Road). Racing will start at 9:30am and wrap up towards nightfall, when there'll also be a burnout competition from 6:00pm. Competitors come from all over Queensland and spectators are very welcome. The canteen will be open all weekend and the licensed bar will open this afternoon and evening. There's free camping available with hot showers. Senior Soccer - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club aims to "turn the field" pink on Saturday for their big Pink Day to raise funds for breast cancer research. There are four games scheduled to be played at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy, two from the local South Burnett competition and two from the Darling Downs Community schedule:
2:00pm, Kingaroy Easts Women v Nanango; 3:30pm, Kingaroy Wests Women v Barambah; 5:00pm, Kingaroy Division 2 v Willowburn; 7:00pm, Kingaroy Division 1 v Chinchilla Bears. Also come along and cheer on player Joey Kleinhanss as he gets his hair shaved for Pink Day!
Murgon RSL Sub-Branch Meeting

Kingaroy Art Gallery Opening
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) will opening its August exhibition from 5:00pm this evening. Entry is free and light refreshments will be served. This month's exhibitions feature the magical world of print making, small studies by Tania Rae Corbet, and "The Enchanted Forest" with works by Cara Renee Binding.
Printmaking Workshop - Kingaroy

Pig On The Spit Night - Wooroolin
The Grand Hotel on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin will be holding their monthly Pig On A Spit Night from 5:30pm until late this evening. Apart from a great roast pork meal there'll also be a Lucky Door prize, raffles and karaoke! Tickets are $32.50 for adults, $21 for pensioners, $16 for high school students and $10 for primary school children (U5s are free). XCO Mountain Bike Racing - Gordonbrook
Round 1 of the XCO Mountain Bike Winter Series will be held this weekend at the South Burnett Mountain Bike Club's tracks at Gordonbrook Dam. Hot laps will be raced from 2:00pm this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's competition events for juniors, seniors, men and women plus e-bikes. Spectators are very welcome and there's no admission.
Hard Yakka - Kingaroy
