South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kingaroy BaconFest - Bacon Street Feast
The 2025 Kingaroy BaconFest festival will get under way with a "community welcome" event tonight in Kingaroy's Memorial Park from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. This Bacon Street Feast will feature food trucks and market stalls, live music and a licensed bar (BYO chair or picnic rug). Tickets are $11.80 (14s & under are free) and can be booked online.
Kingaroy BaconFest - Farmgate To Festival Tour
Coinciding with this year’s BaconFest, a special Farmgate To Festival tour has been organised for visitors to enjoy from 10:00am to 4:00pm today. The schedule includes visits to Beauvale Australian Whites (a sheep stud) at Nanango, Minmore Fruits at Kumbia and Chrissy Trees 4 U at Benair where visitors will also meet the people behind Bunya Range Lamb and Bunya Beef Grazing. Tickets are $68.70 (tour only) or $78.95 (which includes entry into tonight's Bacon Street Feast). Tour tickets can be booked online
QCWA Bacon Scone Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy QCWA will be holding another of their popular Scone Days in their rooms at 122 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy (just next to the RSL) from 9:00am this morning to around 11:30am (it's being held earlier this month due to BaconFest.) There'll be special bacon scones available as well as the usual plain, pumpkin and fruit varieties! Visitors can enjoy a delicious morning tea or phone in an order to Kelli on 0409-895-448 and pick up some freshly baked scones to takeaway. A sales table will also be operating with lots of goodies.
Scots In The Bush Festival - Boondooma
Day 3 of this year's Scots In The Bush Scottish and Celtic Festival will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Mundubbera-Durong Road at Boondooma today. The Festival - the largest of its kind in Queensland - features Scottish pipe bands and dancers, folk singers and poets as well as Scottish food, games and much more. Everyone who loves Celtic culture are invited to come along and listen to the skirl of the pipes, the beat of the drums and the swirl of the kilts! Special guests this year include Australian Celtic Women, Brian Letton, Clyde Cameron, Dr Heather Clarke (Ceilidh), the Hervey Bay Pipe Band, Ishka Celtic Music, Maryborough Musos Ukulele, the Moreton Celtic Fiddle Club, Mouldy Haggis, the Noosa & District Pipe Band, Rum City Highland Dancers, Tom Kimmet, Gary Fogarty and Paddy O'Brien. BJF Limousin Sale

The second last round of the regular season of the South Burnett Women's football competition will be played at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy tonight. At 6:15pm, Kingaroy Easts v Barambah; at 7:45pm, Kingaroy Wests v Nanango.
Barefoot Bowls - Yarraman
Yarraman Bowls Club, on the New England Highway, is hosting a family-friendly barefoot bowls afternoon from 4:00pm this afternoon. No equipment is needed (just wear flat-sole shoes). Members will be on hand to share tips and tricks. The bar will be open. $15 green fee includes a hamburger or $5 per person for bowls only. Friday Social Golf & Dinner - Proston
The Proston Golf Club, on Brigooda Road, Proston, will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Cutting Horse Competition - Goomeri
Today is Day 1 of the three-day competition organised by the Southern Queensland Cutting Horse Association at the Goomeri Showgrounds. A canteen will be available for breakfast and lunch and a licensed bar will also be operating. There are events for novices, beginners, juniors, rookies and amateurs with cash prizes. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
