A “student behaviour incident” prompted a short lockdown at Nanango State High School on Monday afternoon.

A Department of Education spokesperson said the school initiated a precautionary lockdown about 12:15pm in response to the incident.

“The lockdown only lasted for 10 minutes, no students or staff were harmed and no emergency services involvement was required,” the spokesperson said.

“The school community has been informed of the lockdown.

“Guidance Officer support is available at the school for any students who may require it.

“Like all Queensland state schools, Nanango State High School holds the safety of its students and staff as its highest priority.”
