The South Burnett Energy Centre in Henry Street is also Nanango’s Visitor Information Centre … the library will be located in the car park next door

May 7, 2019

Nanango’s temporary library will open on Wednesday in the Scott car park in Henry Street.

The “boutique” library will be located next door to the Visitor Information Centre and will be in use while a $2 million refurbishment takes place across the road at the Nanango Administration and Library building.

A Council spokesperson said a selection of library resources would be available to borrow from the temporary library.

Residents would also be able to ask library staff to assist with finding and reserving items from the South Burnett library network. Borrowers would then be able to collect their requested items from the temporary library at their convenience.

During the temporary relocation, the Nanango Library will continue to offer the following services at a different location:

  • Wi-fi access and two public access computers will be available for use in the Visitor Information Centre; sessions can be booked with library staff
  • Story time will be held every Wednesday at 10:30am at Ringsfield House
  • Rhyme time sessions, held in conjunction with Child Health, will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday mornings in the old chapel at Ringsfield House
  • Mediation sessions will be held every Monday at 10:30am at Ringsfield House
