The South Burnett Regional Council has released its rate notices covering July 1 to December 31, 2026.

The notices were issued by mail or email last Friday.

The discount period closes on November 16, 2026.

Electronic transfers should be received into Council’s account before the close of the discount date.

A Council spokesperson suggested allowing up to three days for BPay transfers into Council’s account.

Payments can also be received in person at the Nanango, Kingaroy, Murgon, Wondai, Proston or Blackbutt Customer Service Centres by EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, cash or cheque.

Payments can also be made through Australia Post.

Anyone who has not received their rate notice by Monday, October 26, should contact their local Customer Service Centre for a copy to be mailed out.

A Council spokesperson said non-receipt of rate notices was not an acceptable excuse for late payment of rates.

Property owners who are unable to pay their rates by the due date have the option to enter into a payment plan by completing the Application to Pay Rates by Instalments
form which can be downloaded from Council’s website.

People experiencing financial hardship have been encouraged to apply for assistance by completing application form on Council’s website

Council has had to estimate some water meter readings this time due to an obstruction, vegetation, a locked fence or a dog on the premises.
