South Burnett Regional Council is inviting residents to attend an information session about upcoming refurbishments to Nanango’s library and administration building.

A contract to carry out the $2 million project was awarded to Lanskey Constructions Pty Ltd at Council’s March meeting.

The refurbishment work will include energy efficiency improvements, maintenance and structural repairs, and the installation of new electrical wiring, roofing and guttering in the building.

There will also be upgrades to the library and community facilities.

The information session will be held at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street at 5:30pm on Wednesday, April 3.

Mayor Keith Campbell, as well as representatives from Hollindale Mainwaring Architecture and Council staff, will present the project.

“This building is an important community hub for Council’s administrative and library services in Nanango,” Mayor Campbell said.

“These upgrades will extend the building’s useful life for at least another 30 years.”

Further information can be obtained by phoning the Council’s Customer Contact Centre on (07) 4189-9100.

  1. Please think about bike racks this time as they have never been supplied and bikes are often left in the most inappropriate places
