The recent Dinner With The Captains has raised an amazing $32,000 for the South Burnett Relay For Life.

“Given the difficulties we are experiencing on an ever-increasing basis through the drought, it is a remarkable tally,” organising committee chairman Carl Rackemann said.

The dinner – which featured interviews with Commonwealth Games gold medallist swimmer Lisa Forrest, former Australian Rugby Union captain Mark Ella and retired Test cricket great Ian Healy – was held at Kingaroy Town Hall on July 28.

As well as ticket sales, money was raised through raffles, a live auction and a silent auction.

The 2018 South Burnett Relay For Life will be held on October 13-14 at Kingaroy Showground.

One of the largest group of entrants so far has come from Kingaroy State High School, which has nine teams entered and have already begun fundraising.

Team registrations for the South Burnett Relay For Life can be made online
