The South Burnett Saints women’s team kicked off their 2026 campaign on Saturday at Rockville Park in Toowoomba.
The under-strength Saints started slowly against University Cougars and were down at half-time.
But the women had strong third and fourth quarters and were just five points behind when the full-time siren sounded, 5.2-32 to 5.7-37.
Goals were kicked by Jenille Pasfield (2), Reanna Lavender (2) and Alisha Fagg.
The team’s next game will be on May 2 in Toowoomba against South Toowoomba Bombers.
