Months of planning – and a frenzy of creativity by local artists – will come to a peak on Saturday with the official opening in Kingaroy of the 9th annual disAbility Art Show.

The 81 artworks to be featured in the show were ferried to the Kingaroy Art Gallery this week for hanging.

The official opening will take place from 10:00am on Saturday, and will include a talk by artist and author Karen Russell who recently launched her book, “Deakon the Dragon Is Sad”.

This colourful story book enables adults and children to discuss bullying and mental illness.

The gallery opening is free, light refreshments will be served and there will be a lucky door prize.

The exhibition is being sponsored by Jobmatch, CROSB Kingaroy, SBcare Kingaroy, Graham House Murgon and The Gumnut Place Murgon.
