The South Burnett Young Leaders Association Inc has now formally become Kingaroy Christmas Carnival Inc.
Committee president Craig Lucas said the new name had been accepted by the Department of Justice.
The name better reflects the association’s main role in recent years, which has been organising the annual Christmas Carnival in Kingaroy.
The group met on Thursday evening in the Stanwell Room at SBcare in Kingaroy to discuss the change and begin planning for the 2016 carnival.
Committee president Craig Lucas presented Graeme Beard and Peter Verbakel, from Kingaroy SES, with a plaque to thank the group for their support at the carnival for “15 plus” years.
Craig said the group meets on the first Thursday of every month, and was always looking for new volunteers and new ideas to make the carnival even bigger and better.
He said the venue for the meeting was not fixed, so interested people should either check the group’s Facebook page or phone him on 0455-993-899.
