An 19-year-old former Cherbourg resident has been committed to face trial charged with the rape, murder and assault of a pregnant woman.
Andrew Michael Burke appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
He has been charged over the death of Joan Ryther, 27, whose body was found on May 22, 2013, within metres of a McDonald’s restaurant in Logan where she worked.
Beenleigh Magistrate Terry Duroux said there was sufficient evidence to commit Burke to face trial.
No plea has been entered.
