LNP Senator for Queensland James McGrath with South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell and his wife Marion

January 19, 2015

LNP Senator James McGrath officially launched Deb Frecklington’s campaign to retain the seat of Nanango at a function for the party faithful at the Carrollee Hotel in Kingaroy this evening.

Senator McGrath, who is the LNP “patron senator” for the Wide Bay / Sunshine Coast area, may only have been a Senator since July 1 but he’s no newbie when it comes to campaigning.

He’s directed the successful campaigns for Campbell Newman and the NT Country Liberals in 2012, and before that was a political strategist with the British Conservative Party.

He was also a political adviser to long-serving London Lord Mayor Boris Johnson and campaigned in 2008 for the election of resident Mohamed Nasheed in the Maldives.

Local LNP stalwart Jack Delaney is guiding Mrs Frecklington’s campaign.
