May 15, 2014

An information session will be held in Kingaroy tomorrow afternoon (May 16) to explain a national mental health initiative dubbed “Mi Networks”.

Mi Networks, an initiative of the Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia, is aimed at people who have a question about mental illness or are looking for support in the local community but don’t know where to start.

They can telephone 1800-985-944 or visit the Mi Networks website to be connected to an experienced mental health worker who can provide up-to-date and relevant information about mental health concerns and answer any questions you may have about yourself, a family member, friend or employee.

Mi Networks staff can also assist by linking people to a broad range of services in the local area including housing, employment, support groups and other community services.

Mi Networks Project Officer Mary-Anne Quilter will host the Kingaroy information session.

She will speak to members of the Kingaroy Interagency network before the information session which will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room from 2:00pm.

All members of the public are invited to attend.

Promotion of Mi Networks in a number of rural and regional communities throughout Queensland has been funded by the Aussie Farmers Foundation.
