The grass-fed beef business launched earlier this year by Crownthorpe graziers Brett and Simone Greer has proven so popular that the couple have decided to open a butcher shop in Murgon.

The shop, which will be located at  76 Macalister Street, will open on October 3.

Bronel Natural Foods began just two two months ago.

“We have already had so many people buy our beef that we had to look at expanding already,” Simone said.

“In our first two months of operation we have sold out both months and are now looking at sourcing additional suppliers of grass fed beef and having a permanent shop for people to buy grass-fed and free-range meats.

“Brett and I started the business to sell some of our own grass-fed cattle at the local markets. Business has boomed and we had so many inquiries for other free range products that we have purchased the local butcher shop.

“There is a growing appreciation of the quality and benefits of eating grass fed and free range meats. The feedback from our clients has been fantastic.

“Our focus will be on grass-fed beef and lamb, free-range pork and chooks. We will also stock fresh seafood every Friday and Saturday.

“We are passionate about our region and will be concentrating on having the majority of our suppliers from the South Burnett.

“We are working with Claire and Craig Kapernick, from Glenrock Family Trust, and Megan and Will Seiler, from Crownthorpe.”
