Amelia and Sarah … Mother’s Day was an opportunity for St John’s students to treat their mums

May 10, 2013

Prep children at St John’s Lutheran School treated their mothers to a special afternoon this week in the lead up to Mother’s Day this weekend.

Many mothers arrived for their afternoon tea anticipating a chance to share a cuppa and chat with other mums.

Prep J mums did not expect to be treated to a day spa experience where colourful manicures and shoulder massages were on offer. The children sat and painted their mum’s nails with rainbow-coloured nail polish.

Children had been working all week on special craft activities to show their mums how much they loved them. Gift bags were painted and included some handmade treasures the mums will keep for years to come.

The children’s special Mother’s Day cards were decorated and included their clever Preppie writing.

Prep C class worked each day to write a book about their mothers, writing a special sentence about things they liked doing with their mums and thanking them for the fun times they have together. The Prep C class shared a story time and a song they had written together about their special mothers.

There were yummy treats of cakes and slices on offer to complete the afternoon. The children brought around some of the food to their mums to complete a memorable afternoon.

The mums enjoyed their special time with their child and the chance to see the activities they have been doing in Prep at St John’s.
