Children at Taabinga State School will soon be enjoying a new sand pit thanks to a $4811.23 donation from Powerlink Queensland.

The funds came from Powerlink’s $130,000 Community Benefits Program which has been implemented in association with the construction of  the transmission line between the Western Downs Sub-Station, near Kogan Creek Power Station, and the Halys Sub-Station at Tarong.

Taabinga  P&C President Tina Torrens and Vice-President Alana Braizer were presented with the cheque at the Kumbia Racecourse.

Tina said the old sandpit at the school was not functional; the boxing was rotting and the sand was coarse and hard.
