Leaving Jackson, The Johnny Cash & June Carter Show - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Regional Council will be hosting "Leaving Jackson, The Johnny Cash & June Carter Show" at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 7:30pm until around 10:00pm tonight. The show stars Jeff Carter Jnr and Narelle Ryan with full backing band, and has played to packed houses all over Australia and New Zealand, bringing famous hits like "Walk the Line", "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Ring Of Fire" back to life. Tickets to the show are $50 (or $45 for early bird seniors who book by October 31) and a licensed bar will be operating all night as well. Tickets can be booked online through Eventbrite.
Murgon Bush Christmas
The Murgon Show Society in conjunction with Murgon's Rotary, Lions and Apex clubs, the Murgon Business & Development Association and several sponsors will be hosting a Bush Christmas at Murgon's Showgrounds in Macalister Street from 5:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. The event will feature food trucks, a canteen, market stalls, ham wheels, live entertainment, Christmas carols led by the Barambah Ministers Association and (at 6:30pm) an auction of live, decorated Christmas trees. The South Burnett Autism Support Group will be holding its second Friday of the month meeting at the Salvation Army Hall at 107 Kingaroy St, Kingaroy at 6:30pm this evening (child care is available for a small fee). Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Christmas Festival
The Blackbutt Benarkin Lions' annual Christmas Festival will be held at the Timbertown Sporting and Community Hub in Railway Street, Blackbutt from 5:00pm to around 8:00pm tonight. This year's Festival will feature market stalls, food stalls, novelty races, big games, a jumping castle, a Xmas Ornament creation stall, a 9-hole Putt Putt course, ham wheel raffles and full bar facilities, plus lots of prizes to be won. Santa will also be putting in an appearance at 6:30pm and there'll be Christmas carols as well. Everyone is welcome to this all-ages, family friendly event and there's no admission.
Line Dancing - Yarraman
Weekly line dancing classes will be held the Community Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 9:00am to noon this morning. Class fees are $5 and everyone is welcome. More details? Phone 0422-889-530.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Cuppa & Chat Group - Kingaroy
Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. SOLD OUT: The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting the first performance of their new theatre-restaurant production "Rome, Sweet Rome" at the Nanango Golf Club on the D'Aguilar Highway north of Nanango's CBD at 6:30pm tonight. Tickets to tonight's show (and another show being held in Wondai tomorrow) are sold out, but there are still a few available for performances at the Kingaroy Bowls Club on the 16th and 17th December which can be booked online.
JT - Kilkivan

Kingaroy QCWA Meeting
The Kingaroy QCWA will be holding its monthly meeting at its rooms in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy (just next to the RSL) from 9:30am this morning. All women are welcome to join the branch - you don't need to be able to cook or sew - and if you join today they'll throw in 3 months membership for free. Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
