Free Dementia Information Session - Murgon
Alzheimers Australia and Graham House Community Centre will be holding a free community information session - "8 Things You Need To Know About Dementia" - at Graham House at 21 Taylor Street East in Murgon from 9:30am to around 10:45am this morning. The seminar will be led by Alzheimers Australia community educator Carol Chapman, who'll explain what dementia is; the signs and symptoms of dementia; how to care for someone who has dementia; and where to get help. The session will run for around an hour and will be followed by a light morning tea. Everyone is welcome along, but for catering purposes an RSVP by Friday 30 January would be greatly appreciated. - The Nanango Country Quilters And Crafts group meet every Wednesday at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 9:00am to 2:00pm. Members can get to pursue a wide variety of crafts at these informal gatherings and the $4 meeting fee includes morning tea (but BYO cup and lunch). There's also usually a raffle as well. Man Cave - Kingaroy
- The Sister Dolores Carroll Training Centre at St Mary's Catholic College at 10 Kent Street in Kingaroy will be transforming into a "Man's Cave" between 6:30pm and 10:00pm tonight. Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today.
