South Burnett Speedway - Kingaroy
- Speedway will be roaring back into action at the Lucas Oil Kingaroy Speedway tonight with the spotlight on V8 Sprintcars which will be competing for the "Peanut Crown 3000". Also on the program will be Modified Sedans, Formula 500s and Wingless Sprints. The Formula 500s will be racing in Round 8 of the Tyrepower Super Series. Gates open at 3:00pm with racing scheduled to start at 4:30pm. Admision prices are $25 for adults, $15 forv students or concessions (12 and under are free) or $65 for a family of four.
Fortunato Isgro - Kingaroy

Wondai Country Markets
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. Today's markets will feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans available from the Gallery's new "Studio" building just a short stroll across the park. The Wondai Kindergarten's BBQs will also be firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts to early bargain hunters. National Red Balloon Day Sausage Sizzle - Nanango
- Today is the second annual National Red Balloon Day, a new day when Australians are being encouraged to show their support for our brave urban, auxiliary and rural firefighters by flying a red balloon from their letterbox, fence, business window or a ribbon from their car. And to mark it, the South Nanango Rural Fire Brigade will be holding a sausage sizzle in the Nanango IGA car park in Fitzroy Street from 9:00am this morning. They'll also have balloons and stickers on sale, as well as information about joining the Brigade if you're interested.
South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Shed Happens - Nanango
- The South Burnett Shed Men will be holding their 43rd meeting at Les and Robyn Schloss' shed at 12766 D'Aguilar Highway in Nanango from 3:30pm onwards this afternoon. Les is president of the Nanango Show Society and breeds llamas, fallow deer and Bantang cattle on his property. He also has a museum featuring antique machinery, tools, horse gear and collectables well worth seeing. Special guest speaker Gerry Gale will also be coming from Maryborough to discuss how he acquired land near there to help other blokes going through experiences similar to some rough ones that he went through and - all in all - it should be a pretty good day out. The $15 admission fee includes a meal, dessert, soft drinks, coffee & tea (BYO if you want something harder). All blokes are welcome, and young blokes under 15 can get in for free. More details? Ladies Night Out - Kingaroy
- While tonight's South Burnett Shed Men meeting is running in Nanango (see entry further above), women and girls haven't been forgotten! Glence Larsen will be holding a Ladies Night Out at 19 Avocado Crescent in Kingaroy from 5:00pm onwards this evening with special guest speaker Helena Gale, who'll be talking about repurposing your life after being struck by an unexpected disaster. There's no charge to attend but you should bring along a plate of finger food for a shared supper. More details? Pig On A Spit Night - Maidenwell
- Maidenwell's historic Maidenwell Hotel will be holding another of their popular monthly Pig On A Spit evenings from 6:00pm until late tonight (dinner is served from 6:00pm to 8:00pm). There'll be live entertainment from popular country rock performer Arthur Nettelfield and lots of cold beer, as well as more pork than you can poke a stick at! Tonight's get-together is the last celebration of the hotel's centenary year (or the first of its second century if it runs until late) and everyone who's ever had a connection with the Maidenwell Hotel is very welcome - but first-timers can come along too.

Saturday Cricket
- The fourteenth round of the South Burnett's A Grade cricket competition will be played in Nanango and Wondai today. In Nanango, the home team will play RSL Services at the Nanango Cricket Grounds; and in Wondai, the home team will play Murgon at the Wondai Cricket Grounds. Meanwhile, in the Preliminary Final of this year's B Grade competition, top-of-the-table Warriors will play off against second-placed Kumbia Rattlers at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy; while the third-placed Murgon Colts will take on fourth position team RSL Services at the Murgon Cricket Grounds. Spectators and supporters are very welcome at all games.
Mosaics Workshop - Nanango

Cooyar Campdraft
- A one-day campdraft will be held at the Cooyar Showgrounds from early this morning until late this afternoon. About 300 riders have registered for this year's event and you can expect to see a lot of great campdrafting action. Admission is 100% free for spectators.
Farmers Challenge - Blackbutt
- The Blackbutt Show Society will be running the first-ever Farmer's Challenge at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road from 3:00pm until around midnight tonight as a fundraiser (gates open at 2:30pm). Teams will compete in a range of whacky challenges which will see artificial cows being milked, “pigs” pulled and tinnies cracked amongst many other activities, and at the end of the day one of the teams will be crowned “2015 Farmers Of The Year” and take away a $1000 prize. As well as the crazy capers, the Show Society will also have a display of photographs in the pavilion and there will be market stalls, show bags, a post-ripping display, as well as face-painting and a jumping castle for the children. 50-50 Dance - Nanango
- A 50-50 Dance will be held at Taras Hall next to Nanango RSL in George Street, Nanango from 5:30pm onwards tonight as a fundraiser for the Aussie Helpers charity.
