Greet, Eat & Meet - Yarraman
- After a two-month break for the Feastive Season, the first monthly "Greet, Meet & Eat" social function for 2015 will be held at St Philip's Anglican Church Hall in Millar Street, Yarraman from 10:00am until around 1:00pm today. The group was formed in May 2012 to provide a safe place where locals from Yaraman, Blackbutt and Cooyar could get together, enjoy each other's company and meet others in a low-cost way, and it's met on the third Friday of each month ever since (except for December and January). Today's meeting will kick off at 10:00am with a cuppa and will be followed by a three-course lunch at 12:00 noon. Pink Stumps Bowls Night - Wondai
- POSTPONED: Wondai District Cricket Club has organised a fundraising night at the Wondai Bowls Club this evening for the McGrath Foundation. The night is for bowlers and non-bowlers. Cost is $15 which includes a barbecue dinner (from 6:00pm). Names must be in by 6:00pm with bowls starting at 7:00pm. There are also multiple prizes to win and raffles.
Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association AGM
- The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at Nukku Nook near the skate park in Hart Street from 9:30am this morning. Last Man Standing Bowls Competition - Murgon
- The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a "Last Man Standing" knockout bowls competition at 5:30pm this evening. This fun event is for teams of four players, who take to the green with two bowls each and try to get their two bowls as close to the kitty as possible. At the end of each round, the bowl furthest from the kitty is removed from play, and this elimination process continues until there’s only one bowler left (who is “The Last Man Standing”). Matches take about 45 minutes and the green fee is a modest $2. Both bowlers and non-bowlers are very welcome! South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
