66th Annual Cooyar Show
- CANCELLED:The 66th Annual Cooyar Show will be held at the Cooyar Showgrounds on Rangemore Road in Cooyar from 8:00am this morning through until very late tonight. The Cooyar Show marks the start of the South Burnett's agricultural show season and it's always a really great family day out. This year's Grand Parade will run at 12:15pm and the Show will be officially opened at 12:30pm. As well as all the usual highlights including pavilion exhibits, stud beef cattle and Sideshow Alley with 5-for-$5 rides, there’ll also be chainsaw racing events with cash prizes, mutton busting, poddy rides and a mini horse derby, along with a Ute Muster. And in the evening there’ll be live music, a giant fireworks display and the ever-popular Cooyar Bull Ride. Entry to this year's Cooyar Show is just $20 for adults and $5 for high school students (primary school aged children are free) and everyone is welcome along! Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
- The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today. The markets feature an array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls and new stallholders are always very welcome! More details? Phone (07) 4162-7300.
5th Annual Windera Music Muster
- POSTPONED: Windera State School P&C will be holding their fifth annual Windera Music Muster at the school's leafy grounds on the Murgon-Gayndah Road from 3:00pm until around 12:00 midnight tonight. The event will feature well-known country music artists Don't Ask, Amber Goldsmith, Alice Benfer and Lloyd Back amongst many others. This open air concert is a fundraiser for the school's P&C to help them purchase resources for the kids, and there'll also be a licensed bar, children's rides, great food and market stalls on the grounds. If you enjoy a relaxing afternoon and evening of great music, good company and yummy food this is a great late-summer event you simply shouldn't miss. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for high school students (primary school and below are free). Everyone's welcome, and you can obtain more details and/or book a $10 unpowered campsite if you want to stay over or a $20 market stall site by phoning Carissa on 0488-024-582 or by emailing her. Black & White Dance - Yarraman
- POSTPONED: The Yarraman Progress Association will be hosting a Black & White Dance at the Yarraman Community Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 7:00pm until around 10:00pm this evening. The dance will feature Old Time, Rock & Roll and New Vogue dancing with music supplied by DC, a licensed bar and a great light supper. Tickets are just $10 per head and can be obtained in advance from the Yarraman Library, or at the door tonight. Everyone is welcome! More details? Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Bunya Peoples' Community Gathering - Dandabah
- CANCELLED: Today is Day 1 of a two-day celebration of Aboriginal culture at the Bunya Mountains organised by the Bunya Murri Rangers and the Bunya Peoples' Aboriginal Corporation. Events kick off at 1:00pm today with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony. There'll also be traditional dancing and workshops by Aboriginal Elders and artists on weaving, didgeridoo playing, spear-making, dancing, language and painting. South Burnett Soccer 7s - Kingaroy
- CANCELLED: The 33rd annual Evolution Solar South Burnett Soccer Sevens will be held at the Kingaroy Soccer Grounds in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy all this weekend. This giant pre-season carnival - run by the South Burnett Senior Soccer Association - attracts teams from all over south-east Queensland and is one of the region's major annual sporting events. This year organisers expect there'll be upwards of 52 mens and womens teams competing for more than $2,000 in prize monies and locals are also very welcome to form a team and join in! Today's games will get underway at around 10:00am and will run to about 5:00pm. Admission to the Soccer Sevens is 100% free for spectators and there'll be a licensed bar, BBQ, coffee van and canteen operating at the grounds too. Smooth & Groove - Kingaroy

South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Seafood Buffet - Wondai
- Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street, Wondai will be holding another of their popular monthly all-you-can-eat Seafood Buffets from 6:30pm this evening (dinner starts at 7:00pm).
