QCWA Public Meetings - Murgon and Blackbutt

The Queensland Country Women's Association will be holding two public meetings in Murgon and Blackbutt today to gauge interest in reopening a Murgon-Cloyna branch and a Blackbutt-Yarraman branch. The Cloyna branch closed in 2008; Yarraman and Blackbutt in 2010; and Murgon in 2012 due to declining membership numbers. However these areas could be restarted if enough women would like to do so, and the purpose of today's meetings is to find out how everyone feels about the idea. The Murgon meeting will be held at the Murgon QCWA Rooms in Macalister Street at 9:30am, and the Blackbutt meeting at the Blackbutt QCWA Rooms in Coulson Street at 12:30pm. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Free Business Workshop - Nanango

The South Burnett Regional Council and Business Roundtable Extend will be holding a free workshop on disaster planning for small and medium-sized businesses at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 7:30pm this evening. Almost half of small and mredium businesses don't have a disaster recovery plan, and the workshop will look at ways that businesses hit by anything from power outages and systems failures through to fires or floods can prevent their business collapsing. The seminar will also provide great networking opportunities too. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served, but if you plan to attend an RSVP by March 24 would be greatly appreciated. Judo Club Training Night - Murgon

The Murgon Judo Club will be holding its regular Wednesday training night at the Salvation Army Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon from 4:30pm to around 7:00pm this evening. Childrens Tennis Fun and Learning - Nanango

The Nanango & District Tennis Association will be holding a Childrens Tennis Fun and Learning afternoon at the Nanango Tennis Courts in Brisbane Street from 3:30pm to 4:30pm today (and every Wednesday afternoon until April 2). Sessions are based on the MLC Hotshots tennis fun and learning guidelines, and a parent or nominated adult must be present with all participating children. The South Burnett Lively 50s&60s Social Group will be resuming their weekly Wednesday Wipe-Outs 10-Pin Bowling Morning at the Kingaroy Ten Pin Bowling Alley at 4 Irvins Street from 9:15am this morning (bowling starts at 9:30am sharp). The cost is $15.60 for three games plus a $2.00 fee that will be used towards prize monies and trophies which will be handed out out at the end of the season. Diabetes Prevention Program - Nanango

The South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program will be running the final week of a four week Diabetes Prevention Program in Nanango today. Over 4 workshops, participants will learn practical solutions for reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes through physical acivity and healthy eating habits. The program will run from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango and it's completely free. However, places are limited.
