Dinner With The Champions - Kingaroy
The 2026 Dinner With The Champions - a major annual fundraiser for the South Burnett's Relay For Life effort - will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall from 5:30pm this evening (for a 6:00pm start). This year's semi-formal dress dinner will feature talks by special guests Adam Gilchrist AM, Susie Maroney OAM and Michael O'Connor. There'll also be an auction of great sporting memorabilia during the night, along with a big silent auction. Tickets are $120 per head and they can be booked online.
Historic Photos Display - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Genealogical and Family History Society are hosting a display of historic photos from 9:00am to 1:00pm today at the old 1913 Council Chambers building in Edward Street, Kingaroy (behind the Visitor Information Centre) as part of National Family History Month. The theme is "Ancestors: Mundane to Magnificent". Entry is by gold coin donation and tea, coffee and snacks will be available. More info? Phone 0428-095-003.
Nanango Cup Race Meeting
The Nanango Race Club will be holding its annual Nanango Cup Day at Lee Park Racecourse, off the D'Aguilar Highway today. The fashion theme is "open". Gates and the bar will open at noon with Race 1 to jump at 12:45pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under 18s are free). Free buses will be running from Nanango (noon, Howletts Lane) and Kingaroy (11:30am, Carrollee Hotel) but bookings are essential! There'll be free activities for the children and musical entertainment from local singer Natalie Fenton after the last race until late. Tickets can be booked online. Everyone is welcome! NB. There's no ATM on the course.
Wondai Heritage Museum Open Day
- The Wondai Heritage Museum in Mackenzie Street, Wondai (opposite the Town Hall) will be holding its annual Open Day from 9:00am to 1:00pm today. Apart from displays outlining the town's early history, there'll also be a sausage sizzle, coffee van and stalls featuring local crafts and produce on site. Everyone is welcome!
Back To Basics Music Muster - Coverty
Today is Day 4 of the five-day Back To Basics Music Muster at 1385 Proston-Boondooma Road, Coverty (13km west of Proston). The Muster will feature performances from Rob Breese, Rusty Ringers, Brian Letton, Reece Blinman, the Cartwheels, Zac Anthony, Alice Benfer, Matt Manning, Clarrie Weller and Clyde Cameron plus extra guest artists, walk-up acts and bush poetry. There's free bush camping on site and toilets (but no showers) and campfires are allowed. A canteen will be operating plus a coffee van but guests should BYO seating and liquid refreshments. Tickets are $40 per head per day or $110 for a five-day pass (under 16s free) but must be booked in advance. Tickets can booked online.
Wooroolin Community Markets
- Wooroolin Markets are held on the second Saturday of every month (except January) from 6:00am to noon in the area around the QCWA building, beside the Bunya Highway. There's arts and crafts plus plants and produce, and new stallholders are always welcome! More info? Phone Janice on 0457-143-729.
Yarraman Country Markets

Rugby League - Blackbutt
Blackbutt Timbertowners are holding their Old Boys Day today and hosting South Burnett A Grade and junior rep rugby league games at Ian Bunny Pearce Oval: 9:30am, SB Eagles U15s v Brothers and 10:40am, SB Eagles U16s v Brothers. Followed by three A Grade games: 11:50am, Cherbourg v Kingaroy; 1:10pm, Blackbutt v Nanango; and 2:50pm, Murgon v Wondai.
Lower Wonga Hall Markets

Come & Try Dragon Boating - BP Dam
The Barambah Dragons dragon boat club invites people to try out the ancient Chinese sport of dragon boat racing at Bjelke-Petersen Dam from 9:00am (for a 9:30am paddle-off) on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Paddles and gear will be supplied but participants should wear closed shoes that can tolerate getting wet and bring along sunscreen, water, a towel and warm clothes for afterwards. The event is free and will be followed by a gold coin donation sausage sizzle. Everyone is welcome! NB. Check the club's Facebook page as times could change due to the weather.
Ride To Coffee For A Cause - Kingaroy
- Cyclists will be riding along the South Burnett Rail Trail from the Kingaroy Butter Factory to Wooroolin today to raise funds for Relay For Life. Registration is $15 which includes a free coffee at Dusty Daisy's. For more information message Annette on Facebook
Junior Motorcycle Speedway - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club will be holding their rescheduled Club Days 5 & 6, today on the main oval of Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (but use the Avoca Street entrance) with racing from around 10:00am through until this afternoon. Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
- The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Australian Rules - Kingaroy
Today is the last chance this season to catch the Saints in action at home at Kingaroy’s Lyle Vidler Oval. Saints Women will take on the Toowoomba Tigers at 12:30pm, followed by the Men's team in action against the Warwick Redbacks at 2:45pm.
