South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
The Gumnut Place Open Day - Murgon
South Burnett CTC's Australian Disability Enterprise "The Gumnut Place" is holding a special Open Day today at their centre at 22 Gore Street, Murgon. There'll be site tours at 11:00am and 1:30pm, and a barbecue lunch from 12:30pm. Visitors will be able to inspect the commercial kitchen and learn about Gumnut's catering activities (there'll be products to sample and buy), timber workshop, commercial laundry, document destruction and engraving services. MISfITZ Trio - Kingaroy

Arts Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery, on the roundabout at Wondai, will be opening its August exhibitions at 6:00pm tonight. This month, there will three more exhibitions for visitors to enjoy. In the Front Gallery, Toni Phillips-Petersen, has works telling cultural stories via glass; in the Main Gallery, local artist Mark Ladyman has a retrospective, "Silent Echoes"; and in Gallery 3, Rosemarie Matthews-Frederick, will have some of her stunning paper tole works. St John's Kindergarten will be in Kidz Korner. As usual, there'll be hot and cold finger foods and punch, glasses of wine, live music and lots of fun socialising. Kingaroy Art Gallery Opening
Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery's August exhibitions feature fine art by Sunshine Coast artist Don Milner as well as artworks created at three life study workshops in Kingaroy held this year, led by Don with assistance by local artists Cherry Carroll and Fran Van Vegchel. The exhibitions will be officially opened at 5:00pm tonight. Entry is free and everyone is invited! Kingaroy Art Gallery is located opposite the peanut silos in Haly Street.
Gather & Grow - Nanango
South Burnett CTC will hold "Gather & Grow" activities for over 18s from 9:30am to 11:30am today at the Nanango Neighbourhood Centre, at 41A Drayton Street. Today's activity is "a bit of this and that". Bookings essential. Phone (07) 4162-9084.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Back To Basics Music Muster - Coverty
Today is Day 3 of the five-day Back To Basics Music Muster at 1385 Proston-Boondooma Road, Coverty (13km west of Proston). The Muster will feature performances from Rob Breese, Rusty Ringers, Brian Letton, Reece Blinman, the Cartwheels, Zac Anthony, Alice Benfer, Matt Manning, Clarrie Weller and Clyde Cameron plus extra guest artists, walk-up acts and bush poetry. There's free bush camping on site and toilets (but no showers) and campfires are allowed. A canteen will be operating plus a coffee van but guests should BYO seating and liquid refreshments. Tickets are $40 per head per day or $110 for a five-day pass (under 16s free) but must be booked in advance. Tickets can booked online.
Murgon Ukulele Group

Yarraman Bowls Club, on the New England Highway, is hosting a family-friendly barefoot bowls afternoon from 4:00pm this afternoon. No equipment is needed (just wear flat-sole shoes). Members will be on hand to share tips and tricks. The bar will be open. $15 green fee includes a hamburger or $5 per person for bowls only. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low-income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $50 or $35 options to select food and the other items.
