103rd Annual Nanango Show
- The first day of the two-day 103rd Annual Nanango Show will get underway at 9:00am this morning at Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns St, Nanango. Today's events will largely concentrate on the judging of pavilion entries but there'll be an All Breeds Championship Dog Show running from 9:00am this morning and - at 5:00pm in the afternoon - a Young Judges Competition for prime cattle, dairy cattle and stud beef; and a Young Handlers competition for dairy cattle and stud beef at 7:00pm. If you attend the Show today you can get in for free (the Show's main day is tomorrow) and a bar and BBQ will be in operation from 5:00pm this afternoon as well. More details? A Knight To Remember - Nanango
- The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting the third performance of their "medieval(ish) theatre restaurant" A Knight To Remember at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango at 7:00pm this evening. Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their third monthly exhibition for 2012 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm this evening (a week later than usual because the first Friday of April was Good Friday). Tonight's exhibition will feature a range of artworks entered into the annual Autumn Garden Festival Art Competition and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in this popular event. In addition to competition entries, the main gallery will also be featuring the Australian War Memorial's travelling exhibition "Framing Conflict" (which opened in March and will remain on show until ANZAC Day). Tonight's exhibition will be officially opened by outgoing South Burnett Mayor David Carter. As usual, it will also feature great finger foods, live music and wine tastings from a South Burnett winery (in tonight's case, Captain's Paddock). Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy

Rock & Roll At The Carrollee - Kingaroy
- The Carrollee Hotel in King Street, Kingaroy will be holding a special Rock & Roll Night from 8:30pm until late this evening as a fundraiser for the Kingaroy Kindergarten Association. The Darren Schmidt All Star Band will be performing hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s and it looks like being a really great night out. More details from the hotel on (07) 4162-1055.
Wondai & District Garden Club Meeting
- The Wondai & District Garden Club will be holding their third monthly meeting for 2012 at Sunny Ridge Gardens on the Corndale-Kingaroy Road in Booie at 9:30am this morning. The club meets on the 2nd Friday of every month (except for January) but the venue changes from one month to the next. Friday Night Dinner & Social Darts - Nanango
- The Nanango and District Darts Association will be holding their regular Friday night social darts games at their club house at the end of George Street, Nanango from 7:15pm onwards this evening. They'll also be offering inexpensive home-cooked dinners from 6:30pm if you want to chow down beforehand. The club's licenced bar will be operating too, and both visitors and potential new members are very welcome.
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month).
