Kumbia Christmas Carnival
Kumbia's 17th annual Christmas Carnival will be held in and around Kumbia Hall on the Bunya Highway from 5:00pm until late this evening. Features of this year's event will include the town's traditional Festival of Christmas Trees and the hall itself will be decorated as part of the Kumbia Christmas Lights Competition. There'll also be face-painting; games and rides for children including a merry-go-round, jumping castle and other fun stalls; live musical entertainment; and the drawing of a raffle for a Giant Christmas Hamper (valued at over $250!) as well as lots of quick ham and chook raffles during the evening. A BBQ will also be operating and special Santa burgers, Santa's Helper Burgers and Santa's Little Helper burgers will be available at very reasonable prices. Santa himself will be paying a visit to give away sample bags to children up to Year 7 at around 7:00pm. There'll also be lots of market stalls and beautiful Christmas displays right around the town too. Murgon CBD Markets
- The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street in the heart of Murgon from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The Sounds Of Christmas - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chorale will be presenting the final performance of their annual Christmas Charity Concert series - which this year is called "The Sounds Of Christmas" - at the Church Of Christ at 254 Haly Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 7:30pm this evening (bring along a plate for a shared supper afterwards). Admission is just a gold coin donation and the proceeds of today's concert will be donated to assist Mark Wall's rural chaplaincy. The Palace Hotel at 77 Drayton Street in Nanango will be holding an Open Mic Jam Session from 2:00pm to around 6:30pm this afternoon, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - perform up to 25 minutes of originals or covers. South Burnett Tabletop Gamers is a small but passionate tabletop games club servicing the South Burnett. Members' core interests usually cover a wide range of board, card and miniatures games, but the group is always on the lookout for new games to play. The main systems current members do play include Warhammer 40k/30k (Games Workshop), Mordheim, 9th Age, Batman Miniatures Game (Knight Models), Infinity (Corvus Belli), Star Wars X-Wing (Fantasy Flight), Magic the Gathering (Wizards), Pokemon TCG, Wrath of Kings (Cool Mini or Not) and a variety of other board games.
