Heritage Nanango New Years Eve Mardi Gras
The second annual Heritage Nanango New Year's Eve Mardi Gras will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 4:00pm until late tonight. This free entry, family-friendly event will feature showground rides and amusements for children, live entertainment from Ziggy And The Copycat Killers and a Pink Floyd tribute band, food and drinks at everyday prices and two separate giant fireworks displays - one at around 8:00pm so mums and dads can put their children to bed early, and a second one at midnight so adults can welcome in the New Year. PS: Nanango residents who've been taking part in the Mardi Gras Money promotion running in local shops since October can use their Mardi Gras dollars to pay for food, drinks and rides.
New Year's Eve Family Rodeo - Goomeri
The Goomeri and District Show Society will be holding their popular annual New Year's Eve Family Rodeo at the Goomeri Showgrounds tonight to help ring in the New Year. Gates will open and junior rodeo action will commence at 8:00am; pre-performance events will begin at 1:00pm; and the main rodeo events will kick off around 5:00pm and continue right on into the evening. The event is a full bull & bronc NRA-affiliated Rodeo so you can be certain of seeing some really top class rodeo action. Events on offer include an Open Bull Ride, Saddle and Bareback Broncs, Time Event Stock and the must-have Poddy Ride for all the junior cowboys and cowgirls. And after the rodeo concludes there'll be toe-tapping live entertainment until late. A fully licensed bar and BBQ will be operating all day and night, and there's also free unpowered camping sites available on the grounds if you want to stay over after the party winds down around 1:00am. New Years Eve Party - Maidenwell
The Maidenwell Hotel will be hosting a New Year's Eve Party tonight to say farewell to 2016 and ring in 2017 in style. The fun will kick off at 5:00pm with one of the hotel's famous pig-on-a-spit dinners, followed by popular South Burnett band Mr Q, who'll be providing live music from 8:00pm until late. There'll also be free camping available in the hotel's grounds, too, if you want to sleep over. Everyone is welcome!
New Year's Eve Dance Night - Nanango
Nanango RSL will be ringing in the New Year with a Dance Night inside Taras Hall led by the the South Burnett's very own Elvis, Jeff Hancox. Doors will open at 7:00pm and Jeff will take to the staqe from 8:00pm until late. Tickets are $20 per head - with all proceeds going to Jeff to help pay for costumes - and food and drinks will be available from the RSL next door. South Burnett Speedway - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Speedway Club will be holding their third meeting of the 2016-17 racing season at their track inside the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy this afternoon and evening, as well as tomorrow. The focus of this two-day meeting will be the SRE SSA National Street Stock Title, and there'll be heats for this today as well as Mod Lites for a change of pace. The main gate will open at 3:00pm and the first pedals will hit the metal at 5:00pm. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for concessions and students. Under 12s can get in for free if accompanied by an adult, and a canteen will be operating on site, too. You can find out more on the Speedway's website.
Pro Rata 31st Anniversary Reunion Concert - Kingaroy
Pro Rata, the premier South Burnett covers band of the mid-to-late 1980s, will be reuniting for a 31st Anniversary Concert to ring in the New Year in the beer garden at Kingaroy's Carrollee Hotel in King Street, Kingaroy this evening. The cover charge is $10 and the fun starts around 9:30pm.
New Year's Eve Dance - Booie Hall
A special New Year's Eve Dance will be held at Booie Hall at 1867 Booie Road from 8:00pm until past midnight tonight. Music will be supplied by Deryck's Music and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Admission is $10 for adults or $5 for high school students and everyone is welcome! New Year's Eve Fireworks At Lake Boondooma
Boondooma Dam west of Proston will be ringing in the New Year with fireworks and live music tonight. There'll be a licensed bar open until late, food stalls, a band and a 9:00pm fireworks show (for families that need to get the children to bed) plus a second fireworks show for adults at midnight. New Year's Eve Seafood Smorgasbord - Wondai
Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street in Wondai will be holding an all-you-can-eat New Year's Eve Seafood Smorgasbord from 6:30pm this evening (dinner starts at 7:00pm). The smorgasbord features all your favourite hot and cold seafoods fresh from the trawlers, as well as non-seafood dishes, desserts, tea and coffee. New Year's Eve Party - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Haly and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy will be holding a New Year's Eve Party from 8:00pm until 2:00am tonight. For $99 per head if you pre-book or $130 per head if you don't, guests can get to enjoy gourmet finger foods all night along with beers, spirits, wines, Moet champagne, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks. New Year's Eve Celebrity Dress Up Party - Kingaroy
The Commercial Hotel in Glendon Street, Kingaroy will be holding a New Year's Eve Celebrity Dress Up Party from 8:00pm to 2:00am tonight, featuring DJ Danny B from Brisbane and DJ Marshall from New Zealand. Entry is free if you arrive before 9:00pm, or $10 afterwards; and a lock-out will apply from midnight (or earlier, if the hotel reaches full capacity).
