Darling Downs Health is asking the local First Nations community to have a say on a proposed 2025-2028 Health Equity Strategy to improve health outcomes for the region’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

“Darling Downs Health values and is actively seeking community input to ensure this new strategy reflects the voices, needs, and priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families, and communities,” Interim Director of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Chris Hombsch said.

A series of “Yarn Up” events will be held throughout the region to gather community feedback on the draft strategy.

In the South Burnett, events will be held at:

  • Cherbourg – 10:30am-12:30pm on Thursday, June 19,  at Cherbourg Community Hall
  • Kingaroy – 10:30am-12:30pm on Friday, June 20, at the Kingaroy QCWA Rooms, 124 Kingaroy Street
