The Tableland Public Hall Association, which is celebrating its centenary this year, will receive $35,000 to upgrade facilities

Twenty local groups have shared almost $558,000 in the latest round of Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants.

More than $16 million was distributed to almost 630 community groups across Queensland in Round 122.

A State Government spokesperson said more than 2000 applications were received across the State, the largest number in the program’s 31-year history.

Local recipients included:

  • Bell & District Golf Club – buy a mower – $34,990
  • Bell RSL Sub-Branch – install solar and air-conditioning – $24,245.45
  • Kilkivan Bowls Club – buy table and chairs – $19,360
  • Kilkivan District Amateur Swimming Club – buy starting blocks and lane ropes – $30,852.20
  • Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Association – buy a trailer – $18,184
  • Kilkivan Veterans’ and Community Men’s Shed Association – buy a sawmill – $5621
  • Kumbia Hack & Pony Club – buy mowers, sprayer and brush cutter – $14,738
  • Linville Progress Association – install air-conditioning and back-up power supply – $34,750
  • Murgon Golf Club – upgrade irrigation system – $24,504
  • Murgon Independent Lifestyle Project – buy mower – $30,449
  • Nanango Agricultural, Pastoral & Mining Society (Nanango Show Society) – buy tractor – $30,000
  • Proston State School P&C – purchase IT equipment – $35,000
  • South Burnett First Aid Volunteers – buy rescue device and training manikin – $35,000
  • Tableland Public Hall Association – construct accessible amenities block and paint building – $35,000
  • Timbertowns Woodworking Group – install solar system – $24,900
  • Widgee District Hall & Recreation Association – upgrade facility – $34,264
  • Widgee Endurance & Trail Riding Club – buy lighting tower and shipping container – $35,000
  • Wondai RSL Sub-Branch – install solar system – $34,289.87
  • Yarraman & District Historical Society – buy shipping container and upgrade facility – $25,359.34
  • Yarraman & District Progress Association – hire equipment for event – $31,179

Round 124, which will offer grants of up to $100,000, will  open on June 9 and close on July 18.
