Nominations have opened for Toowoomba Regional Council’s 2023 Youth Leaders Program and young people from across the region – including Yarraman and Cooyar – have been encouraged to apply.

Young people who live, work or study in the TRC area and are aged 14-24 are all eligible.

Council is looking for 25 of the region’s best and brightest youth to join its 2023 program.

Cr James O’Shea said the Youth Leaders Program was a great way for young people to engage with Council and have their say on the future direction of the region.

“The Regional Youth Leaders play an important role in ensuring our programs are relevant, meet the needs of local young people and have the greatest reach possible,” he said.

“The Youth Leaders also get the opportunity to learn about our processes and the role of local governments. We encourage them to have a say and develop grassroots projects to create positive change – not only for our region’s young people but the wider community.”

Nominations close on Sunday, July 31, and can be submitted online
