A man aged in his 20s has been flown to hospital after being trapped for several hours by his hand in farm machinery at Cooranga on Friday.
The LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service helicopter was despatched to the incident just after 1:30pm.
A spokesperson said the man had tried to call for help but had poor phone coverage.
He eventually managed to contact authorities through an emergency app on his phone.
Emergency service personnel worked to free the man’s hand, which had been seriously injured.
The patient was flown in a stable condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
