The “Class Of 2024″ gathered at Parliament House in Brisbane on Wednesday for a Mayoral Forum organised by the Local Government Association of Queensland.

South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff, Cherbourg Mayor Bruce Simpson and Toowoomba Mayor Geoff McDonald joined mayors and Council CEOs from across the State at the briefing.

The forum provided an opportunity for mayors to meet their colleagues and senior members of the State Government.

The LGAQ advocacy agenda for the upcoming State Election campaign was also discussed.

“Meeting with the Ministers and the Opposition Leader was a great opportunity to advocate for our region on issues such as renewables, water and youth crime,” Mayor Duff said.

“The forum was also an opportunity to learn about any new legislation and requirements for the mayoral role.”
