North Burnett Regional Council has ended uncertainty over the future of four long-distance coach routes.

Transport Minister Mark Bailey said an agreement has now been locked in with the State Government.

“We’re very pleased to announce the continuation of these routes under new contracts which deliver accessible and efficient passenger transport that meet local community needs.” Mr Bailey said.

“North Burnett Regional Council will continue to operate four long-distance coach routes between Mundubbera, Maryborough and Bundaberg, and an on demand service between Monto and Ceratodus.

“Locking in contracts for the next five years is an outcome that provides certainty to regional communities

The North Burnett coach routes are Mundubbera-Bundaberg, Mundubbera-Maryborough, Mundubbera-Bundaberg (via Eidsvold) and Monto-Ceratodus (on demand).

The Monto to Mundubbera coach service was not renewed due to very low demand.
