South Burnett Regional Council will resume its town sign installation program in January.

In August 2019,  Council announced it planned to install at the entrances to the region’s towns and villages.

It had originally planned to install the 38 signs prepared for the program by the end of March.

However, the program was put on hold while the Council reviewed proposed installation sites.

southburnett.com.au understands some of the planned locations also had to be approved by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

On Monday, Council announced it will now recommence work on the project next month.

In order to provide a safe work environment, the work areas will be controlled by signs or traffic controllers as the signs are installed.

The project has been funded by the State Government’s Works 4 Queensland program and Council’s 2019-20 capital works program.
