Dog owners in the Western Downs Regional Council area will be receiving a bonus thanks to COVID-19.

As part of the WDRC’s wider strategy to support the community through the health crisis, the Council has decided to waive registration fees for desexed dogs.

But dog owners will still have to register their dogs or risk an on-the-spot fine.

The free dog registration applies to all desexed dogs, except regulated dogs ie. menacing, dangerous or restricted.

Dog owners will also no longer need to swap their registration tags upon renewal, with the introduction of lifetime tags.

All current desexed dog and puppy registrations will automatically renew.

Owners will only have to contact the WDRC if details have changed.
