Two local councils announced their confirmed holidays for 2020 this week:
The holidays were approved under Section 4 of the Holidays Act 1983.
The South Burnett Regional Council has also announced its closure times for the Christmas-New Year period.
Council’s staff Christmas party will be held on Friday, December 20 and all Council libraries and customer service centres will close at lunchtime so staff can attend the function.
Murgon and Proston will close at 11:15am; Blackbutt at 11:30am; Nanango at 11:45am; Wondai at noon; and Kingaroy at 12:30pm.
Libraries and customer service centres will open as usual on Monday, December 23 but will close at noon on Tuesday, December 23 for the festive season break.
They will both re-open for normal business on Thursday, January 2.
On-call and emergency staff will be rostered to work during the Christmas-New Year closure period, and residents who experience problems should call the Council’s after hours contact number (07) 4189-9100 for assistance.
Life threatening situations should be reported directly to triple zero.
Visitor Information Centres in Blackbutt, Nanango, Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon will be open throughout the holiday period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
Parks staff will work through the Christmas-New Year break except for public holidays; and operational and outdoor staff will operate on a skeleton staff arrangement from Friday, December 20 to Friday, January 3.
