People who’d like to cycle the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail without needing to transport their own bike can now do so.

On Friday the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association (BVRTUA) took delivery of a fleet of eight Trek Roscoe 7 hardtail mountain bikes.

They will be available for hire to ride the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from the Esk Caravan Park in Esk.

BVRTUA president Paul Heymans said the new bike hire business is a partnership project with Esk Caravan Park, and came about with the assistance of sponsorship from Brisbane Valley Protein.

“The hire bikes will be a game changer for tourism on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail,” Mr Heymans said.

“It will make the trail more accessible to tourists from other parts of Australia and overseas who prefer to hire a bike locally rather than transport their own bike.

“We hope to see the fleet of hire bikes expand over the coming year to include more mountain bikes and a selection of e-bikes.”

The new mountain bikes can be hired for half a day, an entire day or several days.

Intending riders who want to hire bikes should contact the Esk Caravan Park on (07) 5424-1466.
