Early guests mingle at last year’s Wine and Food In The Park Festival dinner inside Kingaroy’s Memorial Park … this year’s dinner will be held on Friday, March 10 at Kingaroy airport

Tickets for “Style With The Stars”, the launch dinner for this year’s Wine & Food In The Park Festival, are selling fast.

This year the dinner will be held at Kingaroy Airport rather than Memorial Park, and guests will be able to take an optional tour of the nearby Kingaroy Observatory during the evening to view real stars and the universe at large if they want.

International artist Sue Ray and her father Owen, one of the founders of the Countdowns, will be providing live music all night.

And South Burnett chef Mike Giles will be providing non-stop canapes, prepared from local foods.

On Tuesday, the final menu for the evening was released.

Shortly after arrival, guests will be met with two entrees – a dips trio with crusty shards of Turkish Bread and toasted tortillas; and antipasto platters featuring local produce.

This will be followed by 13 mains canape courses which include petite Quiche Lorraine, deep fried Camembert with Cumberland Sauce, stuffed mushrooms with Beef Duxelle, Devils on Horseback, Coconut Prawns and Sweet Chilli Plum, Spring Rolls with Coriander and Ginger, Sausage Beef and Fondue Rolls, Mini Lamb Koftas, Curried Eggs, Chicken Kiev mini parcels, Roasted Vegetable Stack with Onion Jam, a bouche case of Creamy Garlic Chicken and a selection of ‘mini replica’ Chiko Rolls.

After this, the evening will be rounded off with four dessert canape courses: Dragon Fruit Romanoff, Adzuki Bean Brownies, Profiteroles with melted chocolate and Crepe Suzette.

“These are just absolutely mouth-watering foods,” organiser Dianne Hannant said.

“And there’s been so much interest in this we thought we’d release the full menu now.

“We wanted to give people an idea of just how many dishes Mike will be preparing so they make sure they leave room for all 19 of them!”

Four South Burnett wineries will also be supplying wines for the night, and beers, spirits and soft drinks will be available as well.

“We’re also getting two restored 1950s cars on site early in the evening so guests who’d like to get a photo of this year’s event can be photographed in style,” Dianne said.

“We’ve engaged a professional photographer and if people like them, they can buy them. But if not, their photo will still be in an online gallery of the event afterwards.”

The dinner will be held on Friday night, March 10, starting at 6:30pm.

Tickets to the dinner are strictly limited, though, and need to be booked by Monday night, March 6.
