The South Burnett Saints marked their “Ben Brooks Memorial Day” in style last Saturday, overwhelming the visiting Warwick Redbacks at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

The annual match is played in memory of Ben, a much-loved former teammate who died of cancer in 2022.

The Saints’ men downed the Redbacks 15.18-108 to 5.2-32.

At the end of the game, Ben Brooks Medals were presented to a player from each team who had displayed Ben’s courage, determination and “never-give-up attitude”.

The 2026 medallists were Mitch Francis, from Saints, and Jack Drewery from the Redbacks.

This weekend, the Saints’ teams will all be hitting the road and heading to Toowoomba with the U11.5s, U13.5s, U15.5s, senior men and senior women all scheduled to face Toowoomba Tigers’ teams at Rockville Park.
