Cr Danita Potter … on SQCT Board

November 18, 2016

Two new faces have joined the Board of the Southern Queensland Country Tourism, the umbrella tourism association responsible for promotion of the South Burnett.

South Burnett councillor Danita Potter joined Cameron Wyatt, from The Stonehouse Retreat near Crows Nest, as newly appointed Board members at this week’s AGM.

Jo Berry, from Kingsley Grove Estate Wines at Kingaroy, was re-appointed a Board member for 2016-18.

Dr Jane Summers, from the University of Southern Queensland, was re-elected Chair, and Cr Geoff McDonald – from Toowoomba Regional Council – as Deputy Chair.

South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell, who formerly sat on the Board as the South Burnett Regional Council’s representative, stepped down recently due to the pressure of other work commitments.

Cr Potter was elected as his replacement at a special meeting of Council called on November 9 to accept the Council’s 2015-2016 Annual Report.

Mayor Campbell said he had every confidence in Cr Potter and thought she would be a very good representative for the region.
