If you’re eager to catch Monday night’s “super moon”, here’s some key information:

  • The moon will rise at 5:51pm.
  • Photographs should be easier if they are taken while the moon is still low in the sky
  • Don’t expect it to be enormous – it should appear about 15 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than normal
  • This is the closest full moon so far in the 21st Century, according to NASA
  • The last “super moon” like this one was in 1948, and the next won’t be until 2034
  • But if you miss out on Monday night, there will be an “almost” super moon again on Tuesday night
