Kingaroy Eisteddfod committee members – the small group that organises one of the South Burnett’s largest cultural events – won’t be tearing out their hair quite so much at next year’s event.

The group’s photocopier, an essential part of the behind-the-scenes organisation of the event, began to show its age this year, much to the frustration of the volunteers.

The committee was presented with a cheque for $565 from South Burnett councillor Danita Potter at its meeting on Monday night to put towards the cost of purchasing another photocopier as well as a multi-function centre.

Committee treasurer Nancy Cross said the cheque would be a big help towards the $3245 cost for the equipment.

The Council donation came from Division 3 discretionary funds left over from the previous administration.
