One Nation candidate Lyn Keehn

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson chose the Burrumbuttock Hay Run this week as an opportunity to announce her party’s candidate for the Federal seat of Maranoa.

Candidate Lynette Keehn, from Jandowae, joined Ms Hanson on the final leg of the run.

The pair held a meet’n’greet in Longreach at the end of the trip.

Maranoa, which includes Kingaroy, Nanango and Blackbutt, is one of the three Federal seats that criss-cross the South Burnett.

It is a massive electorate, extending from Warwick in the east, west to the Northern Territory border and north to past Winton.

Ms Keehn grew up on a farm in Victoria and moved to Queensland in 1987.

She worked as control operator at a bio oil refinery and then at an RFID reader company in Jandowae. Unfortunately, her job became redundant when the firm relocated to Capalaba.

Ms Keehn said she was sick of politicians “speaking dribble”.

She said people wanted to be informed about legislation and current affairs “in terms that they can understand, not legal babble”.
