The music echoing from Kingaroy’s Memorial Park on Friday night is a signal that the annual South Burnett Wine and Food in the Park Festival is on this weekend!
The now-traditional dinner under the stars on the night before the festival attracted 100 diners to the park to enjoy a three-course dinner featuring South Burnett produce.
After last year’s rainstorm, tables were set up inside the giant wine tent but organisers need not have worried as the weather was perfect.
Guests mingled in the park before their meals were served, enjoying canapes including strips of Wagyu rump, Peking-style duck, Bunya nut balls and oyster shooters.
The mains included pork belly, Moroccan-style lamb and petit filet mignon.
After a perfect start to the festival, organisers are looking forward to an even bigger day on Saturday.
Gates open at noon.
