The South Burnett’s senior cricket competition fired back into action last weekend, with second-placed Wooroolin Warriors notching up another victory in the 40-over competition.
Warriors (8/164) defeated Kingaroy Services (115 all out) by 49 runs at Wondai Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Warriors won the toss and elected to bat.
Matt Nesbitt (33), Brian Birch (22 not out) and Noah Birch (24) were the top scorers.
Services’ bowlers shared the glory, with seven bowlers each taking a wicket.
Lachlan Watson finished with the best figures, 1/16 off five overs.
In reply, Joe Campbell top-scored for Services with 24 not out.
Matt Nesbitt – who had a chance of a hat-trick – finished with 3/4 off five overs.

Other SB Senior Results
- Murgon Diggers (9/234) def. Nanango Scorpions (8/138) by 96 runs at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango.
Murgon won the toss and elected to bat.
Opener Ashley Louis carried his bat, top-scoring with 113 runs not out.
Abby Burrows (4/37 off six overs) finished with the best bowling figures for Nanango.
In reply, Nanango ran out of overs.
Nicholas Scherger (39 not out) and Simon Morrow (36 not out) were the top-scorers after an earlier order collapse.
Theodore Kelly (4/11 off eight overs, including two maidens) was the best of the Murgon bowlers.
- Wondai Wolves (9/219) def. Tingoora Huntsmen (6/112) by 107 runs at Taabinga State School.
Wondai won the toss and elected to bat.
Jeremy Hobbs made a century, top-scoring with 110 while Reg Wenham added a useful 54 runs.
Jason Reilly was deadly with the ball for Huntsmen, taking 6/30 off his eight overs, including two maidens (and three ducks).
In reply, Huntsmen were 6/112.
Nate Osborne top-sored with 35 while Lyndon Hopkins took 2/11 off six overs.

Gympie A Grade Competition
The two South Burnett teams in the Gympie A Grade competition – Murgon Crusaders and Wooroolin Warriors – will be battling it out this weekend in the final of the Gympie One-Day competition.
Wooroolin earned the grand final spot after downing Harlequins by one wicket in the semi-final game played last Saturday.
Warriors won the toss and sent Harlequins in to bat.
The Gympie side was all out for 140 in the 37th over.
Doing the damage for Wooroolin were Matthew Badesso (3/21 off 5.5 overs) and Hunter Brown (3/27 off three).
In reply, Wooroolin just held on to overtake the target in the 38th over but lost nine wickets along the way (9/141).
Lawson Black steadied the ship, top-scoring with 52, after his opening partner was out for a golden duck.
Luke Smith (19) and Kieran Askin (4 not out) added valuable runs at the death knell.
The One-Day Grand Final, between Murgon and Wooroolin will be played at Jack Ison Oval in Gympie on Saturday, with the game due to start at 12:30pm.

NB. South Burnett junior cricket will resume on February 1. The Grand Final of the Goodchild Shield competition will be played on February 23 at Murgon Showgrounds.
