With the 2016 Council elections not far away, Nanango and Blackbutt residents will get the chance to meet all candidates for Mayor and their local Divisions 1 and 2 on Thursday, February 25.

The Nanango Tourism And Development Association will be holding a public “Meet The Candidates” night at Taras Hall in George Street, Nanango, starting at 6:00pm.

The evening will be introduced by NaTDA President Gloria Kirkness, and compered by outgoing Division 1 councillor Barry Green who will be retiring at the March 19 election.

Mayoral candidates will be given five minutes each to outline why they believe they’re the best candidate for the region’s top job, and Divisional candidates three minutes.

After this, the floor will be thrown open for questions.

NaTDA said the night was a perfect chance for interested residents to meet the people vying for the positions.

The evening will be free and NaTDA will provide platters of finger foods, tea and coffee.

Drinks can be purchased from the bar at the adjoining Nanango RSL.
