The southern section of Drayton Street, between Henry and Fitzroy Streets, will be closed on Thursday … the eastbound portion for four hours in the morning, then the westbound portion for four hours in the afternoon

October 13, 2015

Parts of Drayton Street – from Henry to Fitzroy Street – will be closed this Thursday, October 15.

The South Burnett Regional Council advised today its outdoor staff will be erecting new alfresco structures on the northern and southern sides of Drayton Street, adjoining Little Drayton Street and Alexander Lane, weather permitting.

In order to provide a safe environment during work hours, the eastbound leg of Drayton Street (from Fitzroy to Henry Street) will be closed between 8:00am and noon; then the westbound leg will close between noon and 4:00pm.

At least one leg of Drayton St will be open at all times, and through traffic in Fitzroy Street will not be affected.

The Council also advised other road closures may be necessary after Thursday, but they will only be short term, for minor works only, and last one to two hours.

Road Closed and Detour signage will direct traffic around work areas.

Motorists are asked to show due care.
