Access to Lions Park and the Peanut Wagon will be via the Brown Street entrance to Tipperary Flat while the roadwork  is being carried out

June 4, 2015

The South Burnett Regional Council will be starting toadworks in King Street (D’Aguilar Highway) Nanango next Tuesday, June 9.

The work will include widening the road shoulders and improving drainage.

The four-week project also involves upgrading the parking area north of Lions Park.

During construction, entry and exit to The Peanut Wagon and Lions Park will be via Brown Street.

Access to the BP Garage should not be affected but there will be some changes to pedestrian traffic between Lions Park and the service station.

Residents or business owners who have concerns during the construction period have been advised to contact the on-site supervisor.

Work is also progressing on Nanango’s CBD upgrade.

All centre islands in Drayton Street have now been completed and trees planted.

Linemarking for new parking bays has also been completed.

Work has now begun on the new corner islands at the Drayton and Fitzroy street intersection, and the first of these will be constructed in front of Wayne’s World.

The work includes:

  • Replacement of the old footpaths alongside the corner islands.
  • Construction of retaining walls adjacent to the kerb and channel at the back of the corner islands
  • Construction of garden beds within the corner islands

Work on the other corners will begin over the next few weeks.

After the corner islands have been completed, work will begin on the construction of the centre circle island for the  roundabout.

Plans for the Nanango streetworks are on display in the office foyer at the Nanango Customer Service Centre in Drayton Street.

One Response to "More Roadworks In Nanango"

  1. Now that the parking bays have been completed, how come there is NO disabled parking in the whole of Drayton St? Disabled does not mean only wheelchair, the only ones are in Fitzroy St or Scott St, meaning long walk to get to the shops in Drayton St. Not very happy …
