It was lucky that no one was severely injured when the driver of a vehicle turning into Albert Street, Kingaroy, on Friday afternoon lost control.

The Toyota RAV4 slammed into the back of a parked Holden Commodore pushing it more than 15m down the road.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said it was very lucky that no one had been sitting in the stationary vehicle.

“They could have had their neck broken from the force of the impact,” he said.

The driver has been issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of driving without due care and attention.

Three Kingaroy teenagers – aged 13, 14 and 15 – have been charged with trespass and wilful damage after student lockers were kicked and damaged at St Mary’s Catholic College last weekend.

Snr Sgt Frank said police located the youths, who were not students from the school, on Tuesday.

He said nothing was stolen but a significant amount of damage was done.

The boys allegedly told police they were “bored” and had nothing to do.

A teenager has been charged after a single-vehicle accident on Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road near Booie last Tuesday.

The Subaru Forester ran off the road and hit a tree.

“The vehicle hit with such force that the tree sheared off and fell down, fortunately missing the car,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

The 16-year-old was arrested at the Kingaroy Courthouse on Friday morning when he was there for other matters.

He was charged with failing to report an accident, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and driving without due care and attention.

He was bailed to re-appear in the Kingaroy Children’s Court.

Police are puzzled by a burning vehicle found abandoned on Sunday about 9:00pm on Luck Road, past the Kingaroy tip.

Snr Sgt Frank said police officers used fire extinguishers to put out the fire. The fire brigade was then called to make sure the car and the area were safe.

The owner of the vehicle allegedly told police the 2004 Commodore had broken down, however police believe the fire started in the rear of the vehicle from an unknown source of ignition.

Police have seized the vehicle for further investigations.

Police were called to a fight involving a number of people at a Kingaroy hotel in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 22-year-old man was treated by the QAS for minor injuries. A 23-year-old man was charged with public nuisance.

The following evening, police were called to a drunken street brawl outside the same hotel.

Snr Sgt Frank said the second incident occurred just before 1:00am on Sunday as people were leaving the hotel at closing time.

Seven police were needed at the scene to separate the combatants.

Two men were charged with public nuisance-related offences.

Another man was charged with public nuisance after he allegedly jumped out of a taxi to start fighting with a person leaving the hotel.

Snr Sgt Frank said the brawl followed pushing, shoving and arguments earlier inside the hotel.

A 30-year-old male driver has been charged with drink-driving after he was pulled over for a random breath test in Moonya Street, Kingaroy, on Wednesday night.

Police will allege he had a BAC of  0.120.

On Thursday night, a 22-year-old man was charged after a breath-test in Carinya Street, Kingaroy, allegedly recorded .099.

At 6:00pm on Saturday night, police pulled over a Toyota ute in River Road, Kingaroy. The 50-year-old woman allegedly blew .054 and has also been charged with drink-driving.

A female passenger suffered minor injuries when the vehicle she was in ran off the road and hit a power pole on Thursday about 9:00pm.

Snr Sgt Frank said the Commodore ute was heading north along the Bunya Highway towards Memerambi when the incident occurred.

A 25-year-old man has been issued with an infringement notice for failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle.

Police will allege his erratic behaviour behind the wheel caused the crash.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested and charged with public nuisance after a disturbance in the foyer of the Kingaroy Courthouse on Friday morning.

Police will allege she was fighting and arguing with other people, causing a disturbance.

A 55-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with stealing after an incident at the Kingaroy Mitre 10 store on Friday afternoon.

Police will allege the man picked up a complete outdoor setting and drove off.

The man was located at a residence in Walter Road.

Kingaroy police travelled to Blackbutt on Friday afternoon to arrest a 32-year-old man wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.
