South Burnett Regional Council will have a stall highlighting local produce at this year’s Regional Flavours festival in Brisbane.

Competition to get a stall at the popular food festival, held at South Bank on July 19-20, is fierce and the SBRC was only notified this week that their application had been successful.

The theme for this year’s Regional Flavours is “Leisure Food – Lifestyle Meets Community”.

It will concentrate on food for relaxation, health and well-being; food for sensory enjoyment; eating in a way that respects provenance and ensures pleasure is taken in the process of eating; and food for lifestyle and fun.

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann told southburnett.com.au earlier this year that the feedback Council had received from last year’s Regional Flavours had been overwhelming.

“These events are an ideal opportunity to showcase what we have to offer in this region,” he said.

“Council will work with our local tourism businesses and producers to ensure we have produce and information to hand out at these events.”
